Redgate is a truly unique farmstay situated less than 2 hours drive from Sydney just past the Blue Mountains, set on over 200 acres of private mountainscape and undulating paddocks. It is the place to go to find rest, deepen relationships with friends and family, and enjoy creation.

We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, as original custodians of this beautiful site. The Wiradjuri are the largest Aboriginal group in central New South Wales, by area and population. The people of the Wiradjuri country are known as “people of three rivers” being the Macquarie river (Wambool), Lachlan River (Kalari) and the Murrumbidgee River (Murrumbidjeri) which border their lands. For many thousands of years they roamed, cared for and lived off this land that falls within their borders.

Through our website, you can book between 6-40 guests across the property, including up to 14 + 6 campers at the Homestead, 5 + 5 campers at the Tiny Homes and 10 at the Container Home. There are resident horses, and chickens right by the homestead to interact with and enjoy (including fresh eggs!), endless paths and paddocks to take a stroll through, dams to kayak on in the hotter months and warm fireplaces to crackle away in the winter months. We are pet friendly for well-behaved furry friends. With Katoomba 30 minutes drive, Lithgow 10 minutes, Bathurst 50 minutes and positioned half way to Dubbo, you'll need to stay a while to take it all in! The Jenolan Caves, Glo Worms, Hassans Walls look out and countless hiking trails are at all within easy reach. Full kitchen facilities

We are passionate about hospitality. Cooking together and cooking WELL are a big thing for us. The Homestead kitchen is indeed the heart of this home; more utensils, appliances and dinnerware than you'd find in your own home. Come and let your culinary skills come to life! Our tinies and container home also have equipped kitchenettes so you can enjoy a bit of home cooked breakfast or meals during your stay. Don't forget to make use of our Breville babies for a good coffee. Everyday. A few times a day. If you want. Bring beans for the Homestead and ground coffee for the cabins (no grinder provided).

Nature Walks & HORSE RIDING

Nature Walks & HORSE RIDING Accessible by all the accommodations on the property, there are a number of trails and walks to enjoy so you actually don't even have to work out a sight seeing plan as the property itself has so much to offer! Of course there are all the public trails just around the corner at Hassans Reserve, throughout the nooks in Lithgow and Blue Mountains - click here for a quick snapshot!

HORSE RIDING! While we don't offer our own horses for riding, our neighbour across the road at FERNDALE offers lessons and short trail rides. Please book in early with Kylie 0410 565 847.

WATER PLAY

There are 8 dams across the property: The Homestead, Tiny Homes and Container Home all are large enough for kayaking and the others are scattered amongst the paddocks. Kayaks need to be booked by the day as they can be borrowed by guests to be used at Lake Lyell just 15 minutes drive towards Lithgow so please make it known in your enquiry if you wish to book a kayak $10 for adult kayak per kayak per day (including oars and life vests).

travel around

For those seeking the local sights, we are just 8 minutes from Lithgow and 12 minutes from Mount Victoria. Hassans Walls Lookout is a short drive through Lithgow to view the entire magnificent valley. Jenolan Caves is a 40 minute drive away, and Lake Lyell is 15 minutes away to enjoy a bigger space to kayak, picnic or swim in! Just 50 minutes away is Bathurst, where the Fossil & Mineral Museum is (great for kids), the Adventure Playground for a picnic lunch, and some great cafes.

FARM ANIMALS

Rotating through the property paddocks we have five beautiful resident horses and three egg-laying hens. Guests of the Homestead are welcome to collect eggs during their stay for consumption and the horses are friendly to pat as when they see you they will probably come up to say hi hoping for a bit of juicy grass from you hand. Please stay outside of their paddock for safety and keep any pets away from them to not upset them or cause any accidental injury from being trodden on (can happen very easily so please take care!).

linen and cleaning

We supply linen and make up the beds for you with bookings up to 14 guests in the Homestead, 3 Queens & a double loft bed in the Container Home, Queen bed for 2 guests in the Redbird Tiny Home, and Double bed in Bluebird Tiny Home and we can arrange linen at an additional fee for up to 4 guests. Note linen is included in the pricing for 2 nights or longer stays. Single night stays require guests to BYO linen (sheets, pillow cases, towels). There are cleaning products and equipment available to use during your stay; stick vacuums for quick vacuums, plenty of dish washing capsules and cloths, bathroom products for cleaning if you need them.

WALKS AND TRAILS

So many spots to take a walk through the property - the fire trail that meanders through the butterfly habitat, paddocks walk; each residence has it's own private trails to explore - if you have time!

Kayaking on the dams

There are 3 childrens and 2 adult kayaks on the property across 2 dams - one at the Container Home and the other in front of the two tiny homes. Able to be booked per day, enjoy being on the water in our dams, or taking the kayaks to the beautiful Lake Lyell just 15 minutes away!

HORSES & CHICKENS

Enjoy collecting Bronny's eggs each afternoon (they normally lay around 11am!) and feed them your scraps, they'll love you! Jenny, Lottie and Peachy, if they're feeling interested will come and say hello too

Fun for the kids

At the homestead you're set with the kids with large size vuly trampoline and tailor built ninja gym! Get the kids outside to enjoy the huge backyard and go for a walk in the paddocks! At the tiny homes, enjoy a bbq on the fire pit and some fun at the dam where you may spot some yabbies and fish!
